Increase in GFR from 24 to 41 in Stage IV Kidney Disease Patient
Jennifer Murphy, DC, IL
A 73-year-old male was diagnosed with Stage IV CKD caused by hypertension. He was also pre-diabetic. His GFR was at 24 and he was on a long list of prescription medications. He suffered with edema causing swelling of his feet as well as high levels of anxiety due to his doctors threatening dialysis. He loves to travel the country for fishing trips which he feared would come to an end if he had to go on dialysis.
The patient started an herbal protocol from WKI. He also started focusing on his diet and cut out extra carbs and soda. After six months on the protocol, the patient not only had lost 30 lbs., but also increased his GFR to 41 and completely eliminated the edema. His doctors, wife, as well as himself were all thrilled with the results. The patient is able to continue to travel and hunt and fish without the worries of dialysis.

GFR increase from 47 to 59 in Five Weeks
Jennifer Savage, ND, DE
A 71-year-old male was diagnosed with Stage IIIB Kidney Disease. In May of 2023 he had a GFR of 47. He was experiencing symptoms of lower body edema, foam in urine, increasing blood pressure, frequent urination, fatigue, and post nasal dip. He was also suffering with neuropathy, fibromyalgia, kidney health, and type II diabetes. His muscles were atrophying quickly which made getting around the house, traveling, and spending quality time with family much harder. His doctors were not helping with improving the conditions which made the patient depressed as he knew the fate of dialysis.
He met with a naturopathic doctor who recommended the WKI herbal program. The patient expectations for this protocol was to simply improve his quality of life – leave his home as much as he would like, strengthen his muscle, and improve his GFR. After five weeks on the protocol, the patients GFR was up to 59. This has relived the anxiety and depression the patient felt about having to utilize dialysis. The patient has been able to travel again and will continue on with the protocol to see even more improvements.

GFR Increase from a 51 to a 66 in CKD Patient
Kelsey Fernandez, LAc, IL
A 64-year-old female patient was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease due to a urinary tract infection. The patient was on multiple prescription medications, none of which were addressing her kidney function or clearing the UTI. She rated her symptoms as an 8 out of 10 for fatigue, a 9 out of 10 for swelling and pain in the kidney area, and was experiencing body aches all over. Her pain was so debilitating she did not want to leave her couch. The prescription medications were giving her severe digestive issues which made it difficult to eat. Most importantly, the patient was progressing towards dialysis which the patient feared would interfere with time spent with her husband and grandchildren in Florida.
The patient started on an herbal protocol from WKI to address her kidney function and clear the infection and inflammation from the urinary system. After three months on the protocol, the patients fatigue levels dropped to a 1 out of 10 and her body aches and swelling and pain were completely eliminated. The patient’s blood work showed a significant improvement in GFR from a 51 to a 57. The patient is thrilled and has continued on the protocol and at a low-level maintenance dose. As of today, her GFR is now at a 66.
